Steve trained as an Art and Ceramics teacher in Liverpool Teacher Training College and taught ceramics up to GCSE level in secondary schools in the 1970s. He left teaching for a career in the Youth Service and returned to ceramics after taking early retirement in 2011. He is a member of Wirral potters and exhibits regularly in their show in Wirral and Cheshire. Steve’s passion is for functional tableware, especially in stoneware, but also uses earthenware and raku.
